Today is November 8, 2016 – Election Day. As I write this I realize how important it is for all eligible citizens to exercise the right to vote. It has been a particularly dismal presidential campaign. I find it hard to believe that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the two best candidates to lead our country. My parish priest summed it up well this past Sunday when he said to pray for our candidates because, “they both need prayers”.

For many years now I have voted Republican because of its pro-life platform. If a candidate cannot take care of the most defenseless people in our society then he/she is not worthy to receive my vote. I know well the argument about other important life value issues and the obvious economic issues, but nothing is as evil as abortion in our society.

So Donald Trump – I pray you get elected. I pray you are not the buffoon the media portrays you as.   I pray you are a good, honest, God-fearing man.

Hillary, I fear, is the devil in a dress.

I’m off to vote.
